Note Mediators Role: In mediation, the mediator's varied expertise, including knowledge of family law and accounting, enhances the process, especially in complex cases. However, mediators are not advisors; their role is to facilitate dialogue and negotiation, not to give legal or financial counsel. It is imperative for parties to actively engage in the process, independently assess their assets, and seek legal advice as necessary. While translation tools and linguistic skills may help bridge language gaps, parties are responsible for obtaining precise translations. Effective communication, crucial for successful mediation, relies on the parties' commitment to clarity and mutual understanding.
